इ॒मे हि ते॑ ब्रह्म॒कृतः॑ सु॒ते सचा॒ मधौ॒ न मक्ष॒ आस॑ते । इन्द्रे॒ कामं॑ जरि॒तारो॑ वसू॒यवो॒ रथे॒ न पाद॒मा द॑धुः
ime hi te brahmakṛtaḥ sute sacā madhau na makṣa āsate indre kāmaṃ jaritāro vasūyavo rathe na pādamā dadhuḥ
These indeed are thy makers of sacrifice; sons near in order do not leave the juice in the press. For Indra the desirer, the chanters, O dwellers of wealth, yoked on the chariot did not place foot on the ground.
When the libation is effused for you, these offerers of sacrifice swarm like flies around honey; the piouspraisers, desiring riches, fix their hope upon Indra, like a foot upon a chariot.
For here, like flies on honey, these who pray to thee sit by the juice that they have poured. Wealth-craving singers have on Indra set their hope, as men set foot upon a car.
