हव॑न्त उ त्वा॒ हव्यं॒ विवा॑चि त॒नूषु॒ शूराः॒ सूर्य॑स्य सा॒तौ । त्वं विश्वे॑षु॒ सेन्यो॒ जने॑षु॒ त्वं वृ॒त्राणि॑ रन्धया सु॒हन्तु॑
havanta u tvā havyaṃ vivāci tanūṣu śūrāḥ sūryasya sātau tvaṃ viśveṣu senyo janeṣu tvaṃ vṛtrāṇi randhayā suhantu
They offered the oblation to you; the heroic ones proclaimed the sacred offering in the bodies of the Sun’s pair. Be leader among all hosts and peoples; rend the Vrtras and let them perish.
Warriors invoke you, worthy to be invoked, in the variously clamorous (strife), for (the safety of their)person ns, and for the (long) enjoyment of the sun; you are a fit leader over all men; humble our enemies by thefatal (bolt).
Thee, worth invoking, in the din of battle, heroes invoke in fray for life and sunlight. Among all people thou art foremost fighter: give up our enemies to easy slaughter.
