Why have these horses for worthy deeds become barren? Indra with the god-born comrades, make hostile hosts fall. Do victorious deeds, O well-famed heroes; we, young men, will harness the might.
These (Vasiṣṭhas) are offering grateful (adoration) to the lord of bay steeds, soliciting the strengthassigned by the gods to Indra; make our enemies, Indra, easy to be overcome, and may we, safe from peril, enjoy abundance.
Here are the Kutsas supplicating Indra for might, the Lord of Bays for God-sent conquest. Make our foes ever easy to be vanquished: may we, victorious, win the spoil, O Hero.
