This voice of Indra, born of gods, was invoked and he heard and spoke. He does not cure our life-span among men; these things will devour us—he will strike us not.
When, Indra, the plural nts grow up, the sound (of praise) acceptable to the gods, (uttered) by theworshipper, has been raised; by no one among men, is his own life understood; convey us beyond all those sins(by which life is shortened).
A cry was raised which reached the Gods, O Indra, a cry to them to send us strength in combat. None among men knows his own life's duration: bear us in safety over these our troubles.
