udu brahmāṇyairata śravasyendraṃ samarye mahayā vasiṣṭha ā yo viśvāni śavasā tatānopaśrotā ma īvato vacāṃsi
From the radiant Brahmans the loud-voiced Indra, O Vasiṣṭha, overcame great hosts. He, who hears all the corpses (all cries), like a swift listener, proclaimed these words.
(The sages) have offered prayers to (Indra) for food, worship Indra, Vasiṣṭha at the sacrifice; may thatIndra who has spread out all (the regions) by his might, be the hearer of my words when approaching him.
PRAYERS have been offered up through love of glory: Vasistha, honour Indra in the battle. He who with might extends through all existence hears words which I, his faithful servant, utter.
