dhenuṃ na tvā sūyavase dudukṣannupa brahmāṇi sasṛje vasiṣṭhaḥ tvāminme gopatiṃ viśva āhā na indraḥ sumatiṃ gantvaccha
The Brahmanas did not set you as the sun’s kine; Vasiṣṭha created you among the Brahmanas. May the world call you lord of cattle; not Indra, may he bring good thought to you.
Desirous of milking you like a milch cow at pasture, Vasiṣṭha has let loose his prayers to you; everyone of my people proclaims you the lord of cattle; may Indra be present at our praises.
Vasistha hath poured forth his prayers, desiring to milk thee like a cow in goodly pasture. All these my people call thee Lord of cattle: may Indra. come unto the prayer we offer.
