अध॑ श्रु॒तं क॒वषं॑ वृ॒द्धम॒प्स्वनु॑ द्रु॒ह्युं नि वृ॑ण॒ग्वज्र॑बाहुः । वृ॒णा॒ना अत्र॑ स॒ख्याय॑ स॒ख्यं त्वा॒यन्तो॒ ये अम॑द॒न्ननु॑ त्वा
adha śrutaṃ kavaṣaṃ vṛddhamapsvanu druhyuṃ ni vṛṇagvajrabāhuḥ vṛṇānā atra sakhyāya sakhyaṃ tvāyanto ye amadannanu tvā
He heard the ancient bard and attacked the hostile ones; the bolt-armed one chose the vow. Those who came here as companions, making friendship with you who do not partake of unripe food.
You, the bearer of the thunderbolt, did drown Śruta, Kavaṣa, Vṛddha and afterwards Druhyu, in thewaters; for they, Indra, who are devoted to you, and glorify you, preferring your friendship, enjoy it.
Thou, thunder-armed, o'erwhelmedst in the waters famed ancient Kavasa and then the Druhyu. Others here claiming friendship to their friendship, devoted unto thee, in thee were joyful.
