Stand forth, Maruts, look around, hold the harness; the protectors together are destroyed. Those of us who become masters may not be held by foes at night—O gods, guard the path.
Stay, Maruts, among the people, desirous (of protecting them); seize the rākṣasas, grind them intopieces; whether you fly about like birds at night, or whether they have offered obstruction to the sacred sacrifice.
Spread out, ye Maruts, search among the people: seize ye and grind the Raksasas to pieces, Who fly abroad, transformed to birds, at night-time, or sully and pollute our holy worship.
