अ॒यं होता॑ प्रथ॒मः पश्य॑ते॒ममि॒दं ज्योति॑र॒मृतं॒ मर्त्ये॑षु । अ॒यं स ज॑ज्ञे ध्रु॒व आ निष॒त्तोऽम॑र्त्यस्त॒न्वा॒३॒॑ वर्ध॑मानः
ayaṃ hotā prathamaḥ paśyatemamidaṃ jyotiramṛtaṃ martyeṣu ayaṃ sa jajñe dhruva ā niṣatto'martyastanvā3 vardhamānaḥ
This primal sacrificer first beholds this immortal light placed among mortals. He who offered sacrifice stood firm, growing in strength with the ineffable nourishment.
This vaiśvānara is the first offerer of burnt offerings; behold him; this is the light immortal among mortals; he has been born in a bodily shape, immoveable, all-pervading, immortal, ever increasing.
He is the Priest, the first of all: behold him. Mid mortal men he is the light immortal. Here was he born, firm-seated in his station Immortal, ever waxing in his body.
