He who first overcame the mountains, whose rites were the ordinances, was Brihaspati of the Angirases, guardian of the oblation. Twice performing the sacrifice he kindled holy fires; the bull lowed not in vain but bellowed forth.
Bṛhaspati, who is the breaker of the mountain, the first-born (of Prajāpati), the observer of truth, the descendant of Aṅgirasa, the partaker of the oblation, the traverser of two worlds, abiding in the region of light, is to us a father; he, the showerer, hunders and in heaven and earth.
SERVED with oblations, first-born, mountain-render, Angiras' son, Brhaspati, the Holy, With twice-firm path, dwelling in light, our Father, roars loudly, as a bull, to Earth and Heaven.
