ubhā jigyathurna parā jayethe na parā jigye kataraścanainoḥ indraśca viṣṇo yadapaspṛdhethāṃ tredhā sahasraṃ vi tadairayethām
Both rivals contend; neither surpasses the other in victory. Indra and Viṣṇu, when you touch them, overcome these thrice a thousandfold and multiply them for us.
You have both (ever) been victorious; never have been conquered; neither of you two has been vanquished; with whomsoever you have contended you have thrice conquered thousands.
Ye Twain have conquered, ne'er have yc been conquered: never hath either of the Twain been vanquished. Ye, Indra-Visnu, when ye fought the battle, produced this infinite with three divisions.
