This one is our daughter, born of Heaven and towering over Earth — like the striving of mortals. She, brightened by the sun, driving away ignorance, has pierced the darkness.
This heaven-born daughter (of the sky), driving away the darkness for us, makes visible human beings; she who with bright lustre is perceived dissipating the glooms, and (extinguishing) the plural nets (shining) in the nights.
SHEDDING her light on human habitations this Child of Heaven hath called us from our slumber; She who at night-time with her argent lustre hath shown herself e'en through the shades of darkness.
