भ॒द्रा द॑दृक्ष उर्वि॒या वि भा॒स्युत्ते॑ शो॒चिर्भा॒नवो॒ द्याम॑पप्तन् । आ॒विर्वक्षः॑ कृणुषे शु॒म्भमा॒नोषो॑ देवि॒ रोच॑माना॒ महो॑भिः
bhadrā dadṛkṣa urviyā vi bhāsyutte śocirbhānavo dyāmapaptan āvirvakṣaḥ kṛṇuṣe śumbhamānoṣo devi rocamānā mahobhiḥ
May auspicious rays behold the wide firmament; the radiant ones reached the sky and took their place. O wind, make the chest with strength; O goddess, shining with great splendour, bring forth the dawn.
Divine Uṣas, you are seen auspicious; you shine afar; your bright rays spread over the sky, lovely and radiant with great (splndours), you display your person n.
We see that thou art good: far shines thy lustre; thy beams, thy splendours have flown up to heaven. Decking thyself, thou makest bare thy bosom, shining in majesty, thou Goddess Morning.
