अति॑ वा॒ यो म॑रुतो॒ मन्य॑ते नो॒ ब्रह्म॑ वा॒ यः क्रि॒यमा॑णं॒ निनि॑त्सात् । तपूं॑षि॒ तस्मै॑ वृजि॒नानि॑ सन्तु ब्रह्म॒द्विष॑म॒भि तं शो॑चतु॒ द्यौः
ati vā yo maruto manyate no brahma vā yaḥ kriyamāṇaṃ ninitsāt tapūṃṣi tasmai vṛjināni santu brahmadviṣamabhi taṃ śocatu dyauḥ
If the Marut is considered greater, or Brahman who moves not—let there be strength to him; let burdens of wrath be on that Brahman who causes harm; let heaven lament him.
Maruts, may the energies of that man be enfeebled; may heaven consume that impious adversary who thinks himself superior to us, and who pretends to deprecate the worship that we offer.
Or he who holds us in contempt, O Maruts, or seeks to blame the prayer that we are making, May agonies of burning be his portion. May the sky scorch the man who hates devotion.
