Do not let us partake of another's deed; do not let the Vasus consume that action you observe. For the gods indeed consume decay of the universe; the gods themselves have stretched forth the foe's bane.
Let us not suffer for the sin committed by another; let us not do that which, Vasus, you prohibit; you rule universal gods, over the universe; (so provide that) mine enemy may inflict injury on his own person n.
Let us not suffer for the sin of others, nor do the deed which ye, O Vasus, punish. Ye, Universal Gods! are all-controllers: may he do harm unto himself who hates Me.
