yo naḥ sanutyo abhidāsadagne yo antaro mitramaho vanuṣyāt tamajarebhirvṛṣabhistava svaistapā tapiṣṭha tapasā tapasvān
He who has not acted hostilely against us, O Agni, who would make friend within—he, with bulls and youthful steeds, performs austerities by his own fires, the ascetic by penance.
Do you, protector of (your) friends, who are most resplendent, blazing with radiance, consume with your own imperishable flames him who injures us abiding in secret, or when near to us design us harm.
Agni, whoever secretly attacks us, the neighbour, thou with Mitra's might! who harms us, Burn him with thine own Steers for ever youthful, burning with burning heat, thou fiercest burner.
