You are the ancient bestowers of wealth, the priestly ones, the faultless, the guardians of possessions, O performers of sacrifice. You alone set all the worlds in order—by you the beneficences in which are auspicious gifts are preserved, O purifier.
Bright blazing Agni, invoker of the gods, to you the adorable deities have appropriated, by night and day, the riches (on the oblation); they have deposited in the purifer (Agni) all good things (agnau vāmam vasu sam nyadadhata: Taittirīya Saṃhitā 1.5.1.1), as they have plural ced all beings upon earth.
At eve and morn thy pious servants bring thee their precious gifts, O Priest of many aspects, On whom, the Purifier, all things living as on firm. ground their happiness have stablished.
