रू॒पंरू॑पं॒ प्रति॑रूपो बभूव॒ तद॑स्य रू॒पं प्र॑ति॒चक्ष॑णाय । इन्द्रो॑ मा॒याभिः॑ पुरु॒रूप॑ ईयते यु॒क्ता ह्य॑स्य॒ हर॑यः श॒ता दश॑
rūpaṃrūpaṃ pratirūpo babhūva tadasya rūpaṃ praticakṣaṇāya indro māyābhiḥ pururūpa īyate yuktā hyasya harayaḥ śatā daśa
Form upon form, likeness upon likeness, his shape became manifold; that shape he gave back to perception. Indra is adorned with diverse forms; joined to them are hundreds and tens that seize away his foes.
Indra, the prototype, has assumed various forms, and such is his form as that which (he adopts) for his manifestation; Indra, multiform by his illusion, proceeds (to his many worshippers), for the horses, yoked to his car are a thousand.
In every figure he hath been the mode: this is his only form for us to look on. Indra moves multiform by his illusions; for his Bay Steeds are yoked, ten times a hundred.
