Like a swift river in flood, when the tumult thunders, those whom we do not array in veils nor bind by arms—may their flanks be seized by the cows and bulls.
Rushing rapidly like rivers in their downward course and although neighing loudly through trro, they yet, tight-girthed, return repeatedly (to the conflict) for cattle, like birds darting on their prey.
Speeding like rivers rushing down a steep descent, responsive to the urging call, That come like birds attracted to the bait, held in by reins in both the driver's hands.
