यदि॑न्द्र॒ सर्गे॒ अर्व॑तश्चो॒दया॑से महाध॒ने । अ॒स॒म॒ने अध्व॑नि वृजि॒ने प॒थि श्ये॒नाँ इ॑व श्रवस्य॒तः
yadindra sarge arvataścodayāse mahādhane asamane adhvani vṛjine pathi śyenām̐ iva śravasyataḥ
If Indra in battle stirs his mighty wealth and shouts, then let him, unequaled on the road, cleave like a hawk the head of the foe from his hearing-place.
(At the time) when, in the effort (made) in an arduous conflict, you urge our horses over an uneven road, like falcons darting upon their food through the difficult path (of the firmament).
When, Indra, in the mighty fray thou urgest chargers to their speed, On the uneven road and on a toilsome path, like falcons, eager for renown,
