Those that the cows know by mind struck the enemy down by boldness. From these may Indra grant us fame; let his voiced praise be our armor and strength at the end.
Affluent Indra, propitiated by praise, be nigh o us, as the defender of our person ns (against those) who assail (us as) enemies, with a mind bent upon carrying off (our) cattle, or who assault us with arrogance.
They who with minds intent on spoil subdue the foe, boldly attack and smite him down,- From these, O Indra Maghavan who lovest song, be closest guardian of our lives.
