pātā sutamindro astu somaṃ hantā vṛtraṃ vajreṇa mandasānaḥ gantā yajñaṃ parāvataścidacchā vasurdhīnāmavitā kārudhāyāḥ
May Indra, slayer of foes, pour Soma for the offspring; with his thunderbolt he struck Vṛtra down, the one of slender strength. He, the goer, brought the sacrificial draught from far away; the Vasus, guardians of riches, with wise minds fashioned it for the ritual.
May Indra be the drinker of this effused Soma, and, exhilarated by it, become the destroyer of Vṛtra by the thunderbolt; may he come, although from afar, to our sacrifice, (he who is) the giver of dwellings, the upholder of the celebrator (of religious).
May Indra drink this Soma poured to please him, and cheered therewith slay Vrtra with his thunder. Come to our sacrifice even from a distance, good lover of our songs, the bard's Supporter.
