nū gṛṇāno gṛṇate pratna rājanniṣaḥ pinva vasudeyāya pūrvīḥ apa oṣadhīraviṣā vanāni gā arvato nṝnṛcase rirīhi
Do not invoke the herders nor the striving king in vain; the ancient Vasudeya waters pour forth. Herbs, poisons, forests, songs and chants — men sang them and kindled sacrifice.
Sovereign of old, do you, when glorified, bestow upon him who praises you, and to whom affluence is due abundant food; grant to the worshipper water, plural nts, inoxious woods, cattle, horses and men.
Now, praised, O Ancient King! fill thou the singer with plenteous food that he may deal forth treasures. Give waters, herbs that have no poison, forests, and kine, and steeds, and men, to him who lauds thee.
