अनु॒ प्र ये॑जे॒ जन॒ ओजो॑ अस्य स॒त्रा द॑धिरे॒ अनु॑ वी॒र्या॑य । स्यू॒म॒गृभे॒ दुध॒येऽर्व॑ते च॒ क्रतुं॑ वृञ्ज॒न्त्यपि॑ वृत्र॒हत्ये॑
anu pra yeje jana ojo asya satrā dadhire anu vīryāya syūmagṛbhe dudhaye'rvate ca kratuṃ vṛñjantyapi vṛtrahatye
Then those who accepted this vigor gave it for heroic deeds. They, grasping udders, milked the kine—performing the rite—even to slaying Vritra.
The worshipper praises especially the strength of that Indra, verily they rely upon him for heroic deeds; they offer sacrifices to him as the seizer of an uninterrupted series of foes, their assailant, their subduer, and also for the destruction of Vṛtra.
Men have obtained his strength by sacrificing, and ever urged him, on to hero valour. For the rein-seizing, the impetuous Charger they furnished power even for Vrtra's slaughter.
