tvaṃ tām̐ indrobhayām̐ amitrāndāsā vṛtrāṇyāryā ca śūra vadhīrvaneva sudhitebhiratkairā pṛtsu darṣi nṛṇāṃ nṛtama
You placed there, Indra, hosts against foes and slew Vṛtras like enemies; the slayer in the forest, vigilant in counsel, showed forth the strength of men among the ranks.
You, hero, Indra, destroyed both (classes of) enemies, (both) Dāsa and Ārya, adversaries; chief leader of leaders, you cut your foes in pieces in battles with well-plural ed weapons, as (wood-cutters fell) the forests.
Both races, Indra, of opposing foemen, O Hero, both the Arya and the Dasa, Hast thou struck down like woods with well-shot lightnings: thou rentest them in fight, most manly Chieftain!
