evedindraḥ suhava ṛṣvo astūtī anūtī hiriśipraḥ satvā evā hi jāto asamātyojāḥ purū ca vṛtrā hanati ni dasyūn
Thus Indra, beloved of the singers, was praised, the lion-slayer with vital force. Thus born, breaking not the bonds, he slew Vṛtra and subdued the Dasyus.
Thus may the mighty Indra be successfully invoked; he, the azure-chinned, the giver of wealth, whether by coming or not coming (to the sacrifice); and may he who is of unequalled strength destroy, as soon as manifested, many opposing (evil spirits) and (hostile) Dasyus.
So be the lofty Indra prompt to listen, Helper unaided, golden-visored Hero. Yea, so may he, shown forth in might unequalled, smite down the many Vrtras and the Dasyus.
