śacīvataste puruśāka śākā gavāmiva srutayaḥ saṃcaraṇīḥ vatsānāṃ na tantayasta indra dāmanvanto adāmānaḥ sudāman
Your shoots as if herbage, branches like cows in their flocks, the heard‑ones moved about. Indra held not the threads of the young; he gave flawless benefactions.
Accomplisher of many acts, the energies of you who are (ever) active (congregate from all directions), like the converging tracks of cattle; they are the bonds (of foes), themselves unfettered, munificent Indra, like the tethers of (many) calves.
Strong Lord, thine energies, endowed with vigour, are like the paths of kine converging homeward. Like bonds of cord, Indra, that bind the younglings, no bonds are they, O thou of boundless bounty.
