म॒हो द्रु॒हो अप॑ वि॒श्वायु॑ धायि॒ वज्र॑स्य॒ यत्पत॑ने॒ पादि॒ शुष्णः॑ । उ॒रु ष स॒रथं॒ सार॑थये क॒रिन्द्रः॒ कुत्सा॑य॒ सूर्य॑स्य सा॒तौ
maho druho apa viśvāyu dhāyi vajrasya yatpatane pādi śuṣṇaḥ uru ṣa sarathaṃ sārathaye karindraḥ kutsāya sūryasya sātau
Great is the deceit against the bolt of thunder, O wielder of the thunderbolt, at the foot of the lord the dry one. Hold fast the charioteer’s path for the charioteer; O Indra, revile the sun’s adversary in company.
When Śuṣṇa passed away upon the falling of the thunderbolt, then the universal strength of the great oppressor was annihilated, and Indra enlarged their common car for (the use of) his charioteer Kutsa, for (the sake of) the worship of the sn.
What time the thunder fell and Susna perished, all life's support from the great Druh was taken. Indra made room for his car-drivcr Kutsa who sate beside him, when he gained the sunlight.
