Protect him, O puissant one, the youthful sacrificer who swiftly advances like a bull; he who bears the banner of the clan, of thunderbolt and strong pride — Indra, may he, resplendent, equip him with strength and with the price of the drive.
Drink it, Indra, you who enjoy the flavourless Soma; you who are the preserver, the handsome-chinned, the showerer (of benefits) on those who praise you; who are the breaker of mountains, the wielder of the thunderbolt, the curber of steeds, do you bestow upon us various food.
Drink it thou God who art impetuous victor, Lord of our hymns, with beauteousjaws, the Hero, Render of kine-stalls, car-borne, thunder-wielding, so pierce thy way to wondrous strength, O Indra.
