We invoke Varuṇa, fairest of seers, and Mitra. Around them let the arms move, may they possess the golden wealth.

We invoke you, Mitra and Varuṇa, with this hymn; each the discomfiter of foes, the conductor to heaven, like (two herdsmen) driving, by (the strength of their) arms, the herds of cattle before them.

You, foeman-slaying Varuna and Mitra, we invoke with song, Who, as with penfold of your arms, encompass round the realm of light.
