They who stood on the lands, heard in joys—the Rudra Maruts in chariots. A wild beast has left the woods; the earth trembled, even the mountain split.
Fierce Maruts, sons of Rudra, who ride in easy chariots (drawn by) celebrated steeds, (at your coming) the woods bow down with fear, the earth tremles, and the mountains (shake).
The Maruts, yea, the Rudras, who have mounted their famous spotted deer and cars swift-moving,- Before you, fierce Ones! woods bow down in terror: Earth, even the mountain, trembles at your coming.
