gavāmiva śriyase śaṛṅgamuttamaṃ sūryo na cakṣū rajaso visarjane atyā iva subhva1ścāravaḥ sthana maryā iva śriyase cetathā naraḥ
Like cows you cherish the highest horn; the sun does not withhold the beam of light. As if exceeding, noble herds flourish; so a man cherishes prosperity like a breast of abundance.
You bear, for your decoration, an excellent (diadem) like the horn of cattle; as the sun, the eye (of day, dispenses light), so (are you diligent) in the distribution of the rains; graceful are you, and rapid as horses, and like (pious) mortals, you, leaders (of rites), consider (holy ceremonies) for their glory.
As the exalted horn of bulls for splendid might, as the Sun's eye set in the firmament's expanse, Like vigorous horses ye are beauteous to behold, and for your glory show like bridegrooms, O ye Men.
