Men, fearing not to tread the earth, neither full nor wasting, move through cares. Those who behold from afar think of these as within; a man goes forth as if against destiny.
From their approach, the earth trembles with fear as a crowded boat goes quivering (through the water) visible from afar, they are recognized by their movements; the Maruts, leaders (of rites), pass between (heaven and earth) to the solemn sacrifice.
Earth shakes and reels in terror at their onward rush, like a full ship which, quivering, lets the water in. Marked on their ways are they, visible from afar: the Heroes press between in mighty armament.
