Who indeed envelops you, O Mitra and Varuṇa, the heavens or the earth or the realm of men? Are you steadfast in the order? Do you inspire fear for our sacrifice or not for cattle for the pasture?
Who, Mitra and Varuṇa, desiring to sacrifice to you, (is able to do so)? do you, whether (abiding) in the region of heaven, or of the vast earth, or of the firmament, protect us, and give to the donor (of the oblation), and to the sacrificer, cattle and food.
WHO, Mitra-Varuna, is your pious servant to give you gifts from earth or mighty heaven? Preserve us in the seat of holy Order, and give the offerer power that winneth cattle.
