With the shining Sun striving, the butter-backed chariot-driver and his team rise. Therefore the sweet-voiced morning brought forth Indra, declaring he comes with a new song.
The piously worshipped (Agni), when invoked, glistening with the oblation, vies with the splendour of the sun; may the dawns rise innoxious to him who says, let us offer oblations to Indra.
BEDEWED with holy oil and meetly worshipped, the Swift One vies with Surya's beam in splendour. For him may mornings dawn without cessation who saith, Let us press Soma out for Indra.
