स्थि॒रं मन॑श्चकृषे जा॒त इ॑न्द्र॒ वेषीदेको॑ यु॒धये॒ भूय॑सश्चित् । अश्मा॑नं चि॒च्छव॑सा दिद्युतो॒ वि वि॒दो गवा॑मू॒र्वमु॒स्रिया॑णाम्
sthiraṃ manaścakṛṣe jāta indra veṣīdeko yudhaye bhūyasaścit aśmānaṃ cicchavasā didyuto vi vido gavāmūrvamusriyāṇām
He fixed firm his mind and stood forth; Indra alone assumed battle, flashing like stones and shining like the bright steeds of the herds.
As soon as genitive rated, Indra, you have made your mind resolved; you have gone alone to contend against numerous (foes); you have rent asunder the rock by your strength; you have rescued the herd of milk-yielding kine.
Indra, when born, thou madest firm thy spirit: alone thou seekest war to fight with many. With might thou clavest e'en the rock asunder, and foundest out the stable of the Milch-kine.
