Kindled, sharing the immortal, O royal one, make the oblation fit for welfare; he bestows wealth; Agni, set in order the household duties and the inner song.
When about to be kindled, Agni, you rule over ambrosial (water); you are present with the offerer of the oblation for his welfare; he to whom you repair acquires universal wealth; he plural ces you, Agni the dues of hospitality.
Enkindled, thou art King of the immortal world: him who brings offerings thou attendest for his weal. He whom thou urgest on makes all possessions his: he sets before thee, Agni, gifts that guests may claim.
