aṅhoyuvastanvastanvate vi vayo mahadduṣṭaraṃ pūrvyāya sa saṃvato navajātastuturyātsiṅhaṃ na kruddhamabhitaḥ pari ṣṭhuḥ
Limbs youthful, bodies growing strong—he is mighty, hard to harm, of old. He, renewed in the assembly, goes forth like a lion, not enraged, turning about.
They who (present) to the chief (of the gods) the great food (of sacrifice), unattainable (by the rākṣasas), enjoy forms exempt from defect; may that new-born Agni scatter assembled (hosts); let them stand from around me as (deer avoid) an angry lion.
Averting woe, they labour hard to bring him, the ancient, plenteous food as power resistless. May he, born newly, conquer his assailants: round him they stand as round an angry lion.
