To you, O Agni, I offer the sweetest honeylike speech; may this thought be auspicious in my heart. May tongues fill you like the flood, earth and waters satisfy you; with reverent breath they increase you.
To you, Agni, this most sweet speech (is addressed) may this praise be gratification of your heart; pious hymns fill you, and augment you with vigour, as large rivers (replenish) the sea.
For thee, O Agni, is this sweetest prayer of mine: dear to thy spirit be this product of my thought. As great streams fill the river so our song of praise fill thee, and make thee yet more mighty in thy strength.
