If the brilliant host is sprinkled with sacred water and washed by pure ones with pure cows, Agni is honored. The rightward (offerings) are joined to strength; he who is exalted above receives libations from those who sacrifice below.
When Agni has seized upon the (confining) girdle of the aggregated (world), then, bright-shining, he makes all manifest with brilliant rays; thereupon the precious food-desiring (oblations) is added (to the flame), and Agni, soaring aloft, drinks it as it is (spread out) recumbent by the ladles.
When he hath stirred the line of his attendants, with the pure milk pure Agni is anointed. The strength-bestowing gift is then made ready, which spread in front, with tongues, erect, he drinketh.
