They dwell through the world, established in the regions of earth and sea, endowing heart and life. The waters’ guardians behold them: they are the dark-hued, honey-bearing wave among the streams.
The whole world, (Agni), finds an asylum in your effulgence, whether it be in the ocean, in the heart (of man), in the life (of living beings), in the assemblage of the waters, or in warfare; may we attain the sweet-flavoured wave which is established in your (essence).
The universe depends upon thy power and might within the sea, within the heart, within all life. May we attain that sweetly-flavoured wave of thine, brought, at its gathering, o'er the surfaceof the floods. RIG VEDA - BOOK THE FIFTH
