indramivedubhaye vi hvayanta udīrāṇā yajñamupaprayantaḥ dadhikrāmu sūdanaṃ martyāya dadathurmitrāvaruṇā no aśvam
As Indra they invoked both, making proclamations, the priests offering the vow for the sacrifice; they gave the swift steed to mortal Sūdan, Mitra and Varuṇa gave us the horse.
Those who are preparing for battle, those who are proceeding to sacrifice, both invoke (Dadhikra) as if (he was) Indra; Mitra and Varuṇa have given to us the horse Dadhikrā as an encourager to man.
Both sides invoke him as they call on Indra when they stir forth and turn to sacrificing. To us have Varuna and Mitra granted the Courser Dadhikris, a guide for mortals.
