sa vṛtrahatye havyaḥ sa īḍyaḥ sa suṣṭuta indraḥ satyarādhāḥ sa yāmannā maghavā martyāya brahmaṇyate suṣvaye varivo dhāt
He offered sacrifice for slaying Vrtra, he was invoked, he is the well-praised Indra, worshipped by truth. He, when the chiefs fed, made the mortal rich with treasure and upheld the brave.
He, Indra, is to be invoked for the destruction of Vṛtra; he, the deservedly praised, is to be worshipped; the real donor of wealth, he, Maghavan, gives wealth, (acquired) in battle, to the mortal offers him prayer and libations.
To be invoked and hymned in fight with Vrtra, that well-praised Indra gives us real bounties. That Maghavan brings comfort in the foray to the religious man who pours libations.
