nū ṣṭuta indra nū gṛṇāna iṣaṃ jaritre nadyo3 na pīpeḥ akāri te harivo brahma navyaṃ dhiyā syāma rathyaḥ sadāsāḥ
Do not praise Indra in vain, do not solicit him with loud calls, O purifier; do not pour forth empty songs. The immaortal ones made for you new sacred thought; may our chariots be always ready.
Glorified (in the past), glorified, Indra, at present, satisfy your worshipper with food, as rivers (are filled with water); lord of horses, a new hymn has been made for you; may we, possessed of chariots, be ever delighted in your praise.
Now, Indra! lauded, glorified with praises, let power swell high, like rivers, for,the singer. For thee a new hymn, Lord of Bays! is fashioned. May we, care-borne, through song be victqrs ever.
