वि यो र॑र॒प्श ऋषि॑भि॒र्नवे॑भिर्वृ॒क्षो न प॒क्वः सृण्यो॒ न जेता॑ । मर्यो॒ न योषा॑म॒भि मन्य॑मा॒नोऽच्छा॑ विवक्मि पुरुहू॒तमिन्द्र॑म्
vi yo rarapśa ṛṣibhirnavebhirvṛkṣo na pakvaḥ sṛṇyo na jetā maryo na yoṣāmabhi manyamāno'cchā vivakmi puruhūtamindram
Like a tree not ripened by the new seers, he is not overcome nor conquered; the renowned, thinking among the youth, I have spoken of Indra, the hero.
Like a man boasting of his wife, I glorify that Indra who is invoked of many, who is hymned by recent sages (who is) like a tree with ripe fruit, like a victorious (warrior), skilful in arms.
Him who is sung aloud by recent sages, like a ripe-fruited tree, a scythe-armed victor,- I, like a bridegroom thinking of his consort, call hither Indra, him invoked of many;
