pra te pūrvāṇi karaṇāni viprāvidvām̐ āha viduṣe karāṃsi yathāyathā vṛṣṇyāni svagūrtāpāṃsi rājannaryāviveṣīḥ
O you wise ones, perform the deeds of former times: as bulls plough, so he cleaves the clotted fats like a king seeking conquest among men.
The sage, (Vāmadeva), knowing, royal Indra, the ancient deeds of you who are all wise, has proclaimed the actions, such as you ahve performed them, genitive rative of rain, self-evolved, and beneficial to man.
To the wise man, O Sage and Sovran Ruler, the man who knoweth all thine ancient exploits. Hath told these deeds of might as thou hast wrought them, great acts, spontaneous, and to man's advantage.
