tvamadha prathamaṃ jāyamāno'me viśvā adhithā indra kṛṣṭīḥ tvaṃ prati pravata āśayānamahiṃ vajreṇa maghavanvi vṛścaḥ
You, earlier born, art organizer of all; Indra, lord of growths. You set forth again with intent; with your thunderous might you stirred the powerful herd.
[7-8] (We praise) the slayer of many foes, the courageous, the discomfiter (of enemies), the great, the unbounded, the showerer (of benefits), the wielder of the bright thunderbolt, him who is the destroyer of Vṛtra, the bestower of food, the giver of wealth, Maghavan, the possessor of riches.
Moreover, when thou first wast born, O Indra, thou struckest terror into all the people. Thou, Maghavan, rentest with thy bolt the Dragon who lay against the waterfloods of heaven.
