trātā no bodhi dadṛśāna āpirabhikhyātā marḍitā somyānām sakhā pitā pitṛtamaḥ pitṝṇāṃ kartemu lokamuśate vayodhāḥ
O protector, behold the seen ones; with loud acclaim they were struck, the Soma-drinkers. Friend, father, ancestral sire—these worlds the wind-goers performed for the fathers.
Be our preserver, you who are looking (benevolently upon) all; a kinsman (to us); a supervisor (of all things), a bestower of felicity on those who are worthy (to offer) libations; a friend, a protector, a defender in the highest degree among defenders, a creator; (be you, who bestows) the world of heaven upon him who desires it, the giver to us of food.
Be thou our guardian, show thyself our kinsman, watching and blessing those who pour the Soma; As Friend, as Sire, most fatherly of fathers giving the suppliant vital strength and freedom.
