Upwards the deity Savita sent forth the banner of light, making radiance for all the worlds. He extended heaven and earth and mid-space; the sun, with shining rays, traversed them.
The divine Savitā displays his banner on high, diffusing light through all worlds; contemplating (all things), the sun has filled heaven and earth and the firmament with his rays.
Producing light for all the world of creatures, God Savitar hath raised aloft his banner. Making his presence known by sunbeams, Surya hath filled the firmament and earth and heaven.
