Agni, today take the horse for the rite; do not touch the auspicious in the heart with offerings unfit. I will stir it up with libations.

We celebrate you today, Agni, who are like a horse (in conveying our burden) with your praises, conveying (our wishes to the gods), and (who are) like a benefactor, propitious and affectionate.

This day with praises, Agni, we bring thee that which thou lovest. Right judgment, like a horse, with our devotions.
